Wax Melters for 20–100 Bee Colonies

For apiaries with 20 to 100 bee colonies, wax melters with larger capacity and higher processing throughput are recommended. With these units, several frames can be melted at the same time and larger quantities of wax processed efficiently.

A suitably sized wax melter significantly reduces the workload during the wax season. Instead of processing frames in many small batches, depending on the model entire loads containing multiple frames can be melted in one run. This is particularly advantageous when regularly renewing combs and after the honey harvest.

Stainless-steel steam wax melters are especially popular for this size of operation. They are robust, long-lasting and easy to clean. Steam is distributed evenly in the container and gently releases the wax from the combs. Models with a separate or integrated steam generator allow largely weather-independent operation.

When selecting a unit, pay attention to the number of frames that can be processed simultaneously, the internal dimensions, the heating power and the type of wax outlet. A suitable device should provide enough reserve capacity so that larger quantities can be handled without unnecessary waiting times.
